AveloSpace is an ongoing project in collaboration with J.Pavlatos. Started in 2017 in response to the mobility crisis unfolding at the edges of Fortress Europe, Avelo has morphed and shifted through differing manifestations. Initially conceived as a place of refuge for LGBTQIA+ diasporan, refugee and immigrant folx, Avelo as a space has hosted meetings, reading groups, Greek lessons, dinners, movie nights, yoga classes, parties and is the home of Gender Panic. 

As a space, so far we have resisted formalising into a recognised legal structure such as an NGO or SME, holding out upon a utopian dream  of escape from state imposed forms of legibility.  We’re still resisting…
